The referral program

Referred customers close faster, haggle less and stay longer. Flyra can ask for referrals automatically after a job, so the asking actually happens instead of being something you mean to do.
It's Leads > Referrals.

1. Referral requests
One automation, described as "message sent to collect customer referrals". It applies to completed jobs, so the ask lands after you've actually done the work.

2. Turn it on
Off by default. The toggle switches it on.
Before you do, read the message and rewrite it. A default referral request sounds like software. One that sounds like the person who just cleaned their windows works far better.

Timing
The default of asking after a completed job is right. The window where a customer is most willing to recommend you is the day the work is done and it looks good.
Asking a week later means asking someone who is no longer thinking about you.
Where referrals show up
Customers who came through a referral are filterable on the Customers page, which has a Referrals tab alongside All and Do Not Contact.
Pair it with a Referral lead source so referred work also shows in your Reports attribution. Then you can compare referrals against paid channels honestly, and the comparison is usually not close.

Making it work
- Ask everyone, not just the customers you think will say yes.
- Make it one step. A referral request that requires filling in a form gets ignored. Asking for a name and number is enough.
- Close the loop. When a referral turns into work, thank the person who sent it. That's what produces the second referral.
- Track it as a source so you know what it's worth.
Tips and gotchas
- Off by default. Nothing sends until you switch it on.
- Rewrite the default wording. This message is asking a favour, so it needs to sound human.
- After the job, not later. Timing does most of the work.
- Referral plus Yard Sign are your cheapest channels, and both need someone to remember to record them.
