Tracking your equipment

Flyra has an Equipment page for tracking the gear your business owns: ladders, pumps, pressure washers, vehicles. It's hidden by default, so most people never find it.

1. Turn it on first

Equipment doesn't appear in the sidebar until you enable it. Go to Settings > Access, which is the tab that controls which navigation items show and in what order.

The Access settings page

2. Enable Equipment

The list here includes items that aren't in your sidebar yet, Equipment among them. Enable it, drag it to where you want it in the order, and click Save.

Access is also where you'd hide things you don't use, which is worth doing for the sake of the people on your team who only need three of the nine icons.

3. The Equipment page

Once enabled it lives at /equipment. On a new account it reads No Equipment.

4. Add equipment

Click Add equipment and give the item a name. Once items exist you can keep track of what you own and who has it.

Most useful for the gear that goes missing or needs servicing: pressure washers, water-fed poles, ladders, anything with a serial number and a replacement cost that stings.

Tips and gotchas

  • It's hidden until you enable it. If Equipment isn't in your sidebar, that's why.
  • Access controls everyone's sidebar, so think about the whole team before hiding things.
  • Time Tracking appears in the Access list too, but it currently redirects to the Dashboard, so leave it alone for now.
  • Name equipment the way your crew refers to it. "Blue pressure washer" beats an asset tag nobody memorised.
