Dropping pins

A pin records what happened at one address. Someone knocks, picks an outcome, and it's on the map for the whole team, permanently. That's how you avoid knocking the same door twice and how you find your way back to the maybes.

Dropping a pin
Press and hold on the map at the address you want. A short long-press, not a click.
This catches people out on a laptop. A single click does nothing, and a double click just zooms. Hold for about a second and the pin recorder opens. On a phone, where this feature really lives, a long press is the natural gesture.

Choosing the outcome
The panel leads with nine outcome buttons. Tap one and the pin is saved in that colour:
- Sale closed it on the doorstep
- Not Home nobody answered, come back
- Not Interested they said no
- Not Qualified wrong fit, for example a rental or no windows worth cleaning
- Do Not Contact they asked you not to return, and this one is important to record honestly
- Revisit interested but not now, the most valuable pin on the map
- Referral they named someone else
- Quote they want a price
- Yard Sign you placed a sign here
Underneath are the follow-through actions: Schedule Follow-up, Send Quick Estimate, Actions, Email, Notes, Upload Photos and Delete Pin. The pin also stamps who created it and when, which is what makes the team reporting work.
Upload Photos is worth the extra ten seconds on a Quote or Revisit. A photo of the actual windows means you can price it properly later instead of guessing from memory.
1. Turning pins off
Hide Pins clears them from view without deleting anything. After a heavy week a neighbourhood turns into a wall of colour, and this gets the streets back.

2. Filtering pins
Open filters narrows the map to the outcomes you care about. Filter to Revisit and you have tomorrow's route. Filter to Not Home and you have an evening's work.

Where the outcomes come from
The nine buttons are the pin types configured in Settings > Map. You can reorder them, switch ones off, and add your own.

Tips and gotchas
- Long press, not click. The single most common "the map doesn't work" complaint.
- Record Do Not Contact properly. It's the record that stops a new rep knocking a door that already complained.
- Revisit is where your money is. Not Home and Not Interested are noise by comparison.
- Photos on Quote pins pay for themselves. Pricing from memory a week later is guesswork.
