The Map

The Map is where door-to-door work happens. Every knock gets a pin, every pin records what happened, and the whole team's activity shows up in one place. If you canvass, this is the page your crew lives in.

It's the seventh icon down the sidebar, and it opens full screen.

The Map page

1. Zoom

Three stacked buttons on the right: Zoom In, Reset Zoom and Zoom Out. Reset Zoom is the one to remember, because it's much faster than pinching your way back out after you've followed a rep down one street.

2. 3D view

Tilts the map into a 3D perspective, and the button flips to Switch to Regular View to come back.

More than a gimmick for exterior work. You can see roof lines, count storeys and spot which houses have the second-floor windows that change your price, all before anyone drives out.

3. Show Customers

Overlays your existing customers on top of the pins. This is the highest-value button on the page: it shows you the streets where you already work, and the gaps between them.

Knocking either side of a house you already service is the easiest sale in the business, because they can see your van there every quarter.

4. Filters

Limits the map to certain pin types, date ranges or reps. The one people actually use is filtering to Revisit, which turns the map into a callback list.

5. Hide Pins

Clears every pin so you can see the streets underneath. Useful when a neighbourhood you've worked hard is solid colour and you're trying to plan a new route through it.

6. Measure Area

Draw a shape and Flyra tells you its size. Built for pricing work that's sold by area, for example a roof, a driveway or a commercial lot, without going out with a wheel.

The other two controls

Select Area For SMS Blast draws a boundary and targets everyone inside it with a text. SMS Blast is a paid add-on, covered in the Inbox collection.

Create Territory draws a permanent boundary you can assign to a rep. That has its own article.

Search (Cmd+K) jumps the map to an address.

Tips and gotchas

  • The controls only appear once the map has loaded and you've moved the mouse over it. A blank right edge means it's still loading.

  • Show Customers before planning a route. Existing customers are the best reason to pick one street over another.

  • Reset Zoom, don't pinch back. Much faster.

  • Filtering to Revisit turns the map into your callback list.
