Inviting employees

Everyone who works for you needs their own Flyra login. The page describes itself as "manage employees, roles, and permissions", and it's Settings > Team.

The Team page

The team list

Columns for EMPLOYEE, ROLE, STATUS, DATE ADDED and LAST SERVICE, with a page-size control at the bottom. On a new account it's just you, showing as Admin and Active.

LAST SERVICE is the column worth watching once you have a crew. Someone active in the list who hasn't run a job in three weeks is either underused or gone.

2 to 5. Their details

2. First name is required.

3. Last name is optional. Fill it in anyway, because two people called Alex on a leaderboard is a problem you only create once.

4. Email is required, is where the invite goes, and becomes their login.

5. Phone is optional and is how they get job alerts on a mobile.

6. Pick a role

Each option describes what it can do on the option itself, for example "Sales Rep - View all jobs and manage own territory". Read the description, not the title.

7. Send

They get an email with a link to set their own password. You never see it. Until they accept, they show as pending in the list.

Tips and gotchas

  • One login per person, always. Shared logins destroy payroll, commission, timesheets and the leaderboard, and the damage can't be unpicked afterwards.
  • Names are edited here, not on someone's own Profile tab where the field is read-only.
  • Set roles up before inviting, since the invite forces a choice.
  • Removing someone keeps their history attached for reporting.
