Preferences and notifications

Preferences is a page of toggles covering how Flyra behaves and what it tells you about. Fourteen switches and a Save button.

It's Settings > Preferences.

The Preferences page

1. The toggles

Everything on this page is a switch. They cover notification behaviour, what you get alerted about, and app-level defaults.

Go through them once when you set up, then revisit after a fortnight of real use. The right settings are obvious after two weeks and pure guesswork on day one.

2. Save

Nothing applies until you click Save. Same pattern as Organization settings: flip several switches, save once.

Preferences against automations

Easy to confuse, and they're different things.

Preferences is about what you and your team are told. Alerts to your phone, notifications in the app.

Automations (Settings > Automations) is about what customers are told. Appointment reminders, review requests, payment chasers.

If a customer is getting too many messages, that's Automations. If you're getting too many notifications, that's here.

Your own profile settings

Settings > Profile carries a couple of switches of its own alongside your account details, plus a Save hours button. Profile is personal to your login, while Preferences applies more broadly. Worth knowing which one you're changing.

Tips and gotchas

  • Save or lose it. The page doesn't save on its own.
  • Preferences is for your team, Automations is for customers.
  • Revisit after two weeks. You can't predict what will be noisy.
  • Turn off notifications you ignore. An alert everyone dismisses trains people to dismiss alerts.
